How secondary characters (good) in Batman Begins,impact Bruce Wayne from the feminist point of view?
What would feminists say about the secondary characters that are considered good/harmless/neutral (for example: Katie Holme’s Rachel or Gordon) and how they impact Bruce Wayne.
Would feminists say that Rachel defies the stereotypical role with dominance and it affects Bruce in a good way, etc.?
Rachel Dawes has been portrayed as truthful, honest and a very trusting character. Rachel does defy the stereotypical role. She helps Bruce overcome with the pain of losing his parents and also makes him realize that Justice and Revenge will always be two completely different things and also that if Justice is done, it must be done in the right manner, not with Revenge as a purpose backing it.
And that Justice should be done in the right way, according to the rules & laws and not out of self righteousness.
This is why when at the headquarters of Ras-al-Ghul when Bruce is ordered to punish the murderer, he doesn’t do so and escapes the place and continues his quest in order to bring down crime by the law.
Commissioner Gordon’s kindness influences Bruce by making him realize that there are still good people in the world whom he can trust and are dedicated to bring down crime.
Lucius Fox was under-appreciated due to him being a good person and not doing things for his own profit. Bruce realizes this and then in the end appoints him the CEO of Wayne Enterprises.
