Batman Comic Books Price Guide

batman comic books price guide
batman the killing joke first printing 1988 near mint or mint condition. how to tell if it is the correct book?

how can i be sure that the book im buying is infact a first printing from 1988. i cannot simply go by the color of the lettering on the cover (first print is green) because there have been reprints in later years (which also are green). also on some of the graded comics the title is followed by #nn or something similer. i am fairly new to buying comics and dont want to take the sellers word on weather the comic is the correct one or not. also is there any type of price guide book or website that can help me identify comics? thanks!

I know the first five printings had different colors , but you are smart by not trusting only that factor. You have to look inside the front cover. At the bottom of the cover, it will say which printing it is. For example on my copy, the last line says “Printed in Canada. First printing.” The seller should show you the inside cover or, if Ebay, maybe send you a photo. If the comic is CGC graded, meaning it is sealed in a plastic case, the comic has been professionally graded and it will have a label on the case stating which edition it is.
