Batman Movies Wikipedia
Due to success of the first Batman & Superman movies, do you think they’ll make a new Superman/Batman movie?
I understand that WB plans to make sequels to Batman Begins and Superman Returns, and I’m aware of the 2002 cancelled movie “Batman Versus Superman” (see Wikipedia for more information). I just want to know what other people would think if a Superman/Batman movie were released in the next ten years or so. Would you want it based off one of the Superman/Batman trade paperbacks or something completely new? (Meeting first as friends or as enemies?) Would you want Jeph Loeb to write the script (he wrote the first four Superman/Batman trades) or let Bryan Singer continue his storyline from Superman Returns? (I’m talking about the Superman/child subplot.) Would you want Christian Bale and Brandon Routh to revise their respected roles or cast completely new actors? Or would you want it based off the Bruce Timm animated movie, “The Batman/Superman Movie”? (Personally I would love to see that as a life action film!)
I would dig seeing their first meeting, and as in the animated Superman story, Batman discovering very quickly how badly he is outmatched…and although I loved Superman returns, I loved Nolan’s treatment of Bats, so I’d rather he do it…HOWEVER…the problem is this will not happen. The properties are to big to make it worth their while to combine two seperate blockbusters in the hopes of a potential mega-blockbuster! The only reason it was ever considered was the lack of money Supes and Bats made in the 4th installments of their original films.
Maybe one day they will do a live action JLA on TV and then the 2 heroes can interact. That possability seems more likely, to me.
