Batman Nemesis

What is the Joker’s real name?
anyone know the real name of batman’s arch nemesis?
ok not the actor, but the character…like catwoman is selena kyle, riddler is edward nygma, joker is ???
Just to clarify a previous question — the story in which the Joker’s “secret origin” is supposedly given is called “The Killing Joke” (1988), a one-shot story by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland. In it, we see flashbacks to a time when a young, struggling comedian was forced into committing a robbery on the same night he learned his pregnant wife was killed in a household accident. When Batman shows up at the robbery and the man accidentally falls into a chemical vat, the effect it has on his skin and hair is enough to push him over the edge into insanity.
It was a fun read, but DC has since made it clear the story is just one possible origin — they realize he’s more effective as a villain when he doesn’t have a tragic past that readers might be able to sympathize with. So nothing is known of the Joker’s past until the night he fell into the vat.
“Jack Napier” (a play on the word “jackanapes”, or a mischief-maker) is one of the aliases he’s used over the years, along with “Harlen Quinn” (harlequin) and a few others I forget right now, but so far — no real name. At this point, it’s not likely even he knows what it is.

Batman Beyond – Return of the Joker (The Original Uncut Version) $9.98 Some diehard Batfans have been slow to warm to the animated series Batman Beyond even though it was created by the same team responsible for the excellent Batman cartoon of the early ’90s. The Dark Knight should be a brooding avenger in a noir-nightmare Gotham City, the purists argue, not some smart-aleck teen four decades in the future, with jet packs, invisibility shields, and other sci-fi gizmo… |

Batman: The Killing Joke, Deluxe Edition $9.62 The Killing Joke, one of my favorite Batman stories ever, stirred a bit of controversy because the story involves the Joker brutally, pointlessly shooting Commissioner Gordon’s daughter in the spine. This is a no-holds-barred take on a truly insane criminal mind, masterfully written by British comics writer Alan Moore. The art by Brian Bolland is so appealing that his depiction of the Joker … |
